The Safe Schools Fund, administered by the West Virginia Department of Education, is a state grant program that provides dedicated funding for school safety and security improvements in West Virginia. Eligible applicants for the Safe Schools Fund include competitive, need-based grants, county boards of education in west virginia, must develop school access safety plan in county cefp, and plan prepared with countywide council on productive and safe schools. Application details: conduct school access safety audit (sba-approved format) before plan development, submit audit for sba review and approval, and submit plan with audit results, goals, objectives, inventory, schedules, costs, finance plans. This grant program is currently active and accepting applications. Competitive need-based grants for school safety upgrades (recent budget cuts may affect availability).
