The Attorney General’s Formula Based School Safety Grant, administered by the Ohio Attorney General’s Office, is a state grant program that provides dedicated funding for school safety and security improvements in Ohio. With $2,500 in available funding, this program represents a significant opportunity for eligible applicants to invest in protective infrastructure, safety training, and security technology. Eligible uses of Attorney General’s Formula Based School Safety Grant funding include sro certification training, active-shooter response training and equipment, educational resources (all grade levels), mental health identification and assistance training, safety-related school supplies and equipment, and school safety plan implementation. Additional allowable expenditures may also include systems for law enforcement camera access, silent panic alarms, gunshot detection technology, and license plate readers (sex offender alerts).
Eligible applicants for the Attorney General’s Formula Based School Safety Grant include all eligible school organizations in ohio, and every school district eligible for formula-based and/or program-based grants.
